Manage SSL Hosts
For WHM version 11.24
This area of WHM lets you share SSL certificates, and manage certificates by domain and user.
Share an SSL Certificate
This screen allows you to set up a shared SSL certificate. This may be useful, for example, if users wish to access their domains using encryption, without purchasing a separate certificate.
The shared certificate is employed when the user accesses his domain via a URL such as
https://example.com/~username. To access his secure domain directly via a URL such as
https://usersdomain.com, the user will need to install his own SSL certificate.
To share an SSL certificate:
- From the drop-down menu, select the domain whose certificate you wish to share.
- If no certificates are available, you must generate and install one. You can do this using the Generate a SSL Certificate and Signing Request and Install SSL Certificate and Setup the Domain features.
- Click Share.
Note: You may disable sharing of the SSL certificate by clicking
Disable.
Delete an SSL Certificate
In the Installed SSL Hosts table, you can view domains that have installed an SSL certificate, along with the usernames of their owners.
To open a secure website and verify that its SSL certificate is working:
To delete an SSL certificate:
- Click Delete.
- Click Yes to confirm that the certificate should be deleted
